Colombia is situated in South America, bordered by Panama to the northwest, Venezuela in the northeast, Brazil in the southeast, Peru in the south and Ecuador in the southwest. It is the only South American country (not bragging) with coasts in the pacific and the Caribbean.
The diversity of Colombian geography ranges includes the Amazon, the Andes, two oceans, two huge valleys, deserts, jungle, and several small islands in both the Pacific Ocean and the Caribbean. It is ideally located with each access to neighboring countries.
The Andes splits into three ranges: Cordillera Oriental, Cordillera Central and Cordillera Occidental. These ranges cross the country south to north and descend to the Caribbean where you can find beaches those border very high peaks.
The country's area is 1.141.748 km, approximately the size of France, Spain and Portugal combined. Colombia is the second most populated country in South America - after Brazil- and the fourth largest in terms of land, following Brazil, Argentina and Peru.
